Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana climbed to second in the ICC Women's ODI Player Rankings following standout performances against Australia and the West Indies. She is just 39 points shy of the top position held by Laura Wolvaardt. Several Indian players, including Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma, also made significant gains across formats.
Indian cricket sensation Smriti Mandhana has risen to second place in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. Her remarkable form against Australia and the West Indies has brought her within 39 points of South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who currently holds the top spot. Mandhana’s brilliant 105 against Australia in Perth and a quick-fire 54 off 33 balls against the West Indies showcased her consistency and class.
Australia’s Annabel Sutherland also made waves, jumping 15 places to 29th in the ODI batting rankings and four spots to 20th among bowlers. Her all-round brilliance earned her a career-best 9th position among all-rounders. Megan Schutt continued her climb, narrowing the gap on Sophie Ecclestone at the top of the ODI bowling rankings.
In T20Is, Jemimah Rodrigues advanced six spots to 15th, thanks to her recent half-century against the West Indies. Deepti Sharma secured the second spot in the T20I bowling rankings, reinforcing her stature as one of India’s key players.
Meanwhile, Australian stars Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath made significant progress in both ODI and T20I rankings, solidifying their positions as global cricket powerhouses.
