The Women’s Senior One-Day Trophy has been getting better day by day as Maharashtra Women’s Kiran Navgire showcased an extraordinary performance in their match against Railways Women. Navgire’s explosive knock of 64 runs off just 25 balls, including 8 sixes, was the highlight of the match. Her rapid-fire innings came at a critical juncture when Maharashtra needed to boost their total, following an early setback with the dismissal of opener Ishwari Savkar. Along with contributions from Sakshi Sunil Kanadi, Mukta Magre, and captain Anuja Patil, Navgire’s onslaught helped Maharashtra reach a competitive total of 254 runs.

Railways Women, after opting to bowl first, initially seemed in control but couldn’t counter Navgire’s destructive batting. In their chase, Railways lost both their openers early—Challa Jhansi Lakshmi for 35 runs and Indrani Roy for 10 runs. They suffered another setback with the dismissal of Dayalan Hemalatha, leaving them in a vulnerable position. At the time, Railways required 155 runs in 26 overs with 7 wickets remaining, and their middle-order needed to stabilize the innings and accelerate towards the target.
