Social Media Disappointed as Ashwin’s YouTube Channel Stops Covering CSK
Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel will no longer cover Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2025 matches. The decision follows backlash over analyst Prasanna Agoram’s suggestion to drop purple cap holder Noor Ahmad. The channel clarified that the opinions shared weren't Ashwin’s and emphasized maintaining integrity, prompting a temporary withdrawal from CSK-related content.

After being the center of controversy, R Ashwin’s YouTube channel has announced it will not cover Chennai Super Kings (CSK) games for the remainder of IPL 2025. The decision comes after analyst Prasanna Agoram, associated with the channel, suggested that CSK should drop purple cap holder Noor Ahmad in favor of an extra batter, citing the presence of Ashwin and Jadeja. The remark drew backlash from fans and media, prompting the channel’s admin to issue a statement distancing Ashwin from Prasanna’s views.
The admin clarified that all opinions shared on the platform are personal and not reflective of Ashwin’s stance. To maintain integrity and avoid misinterpretation, the channel has opted out of CSK-related content, including previews and reviews. Head coach Stephen Fleming responded sharply, stating he was unaware of Ashwin’s channel and dismissed the matter as irrelevant. The incident highlights the sensitivity of public commentary around team selection during a high-stakes IPL season.
