With the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, India launched “Operation Sindoor” on May 7, 2025, targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation included missile strikes on key targets like the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke. The strikes were a direct response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which had heightened security concerns across India.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar shared his support for the operation, posting on social media that there is “no room for terrorism in this world”, emphasizing India’s unity and strength. His message echoed the sentiments of several other Indian cricketers who reacted to the escalation.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting to discuss the operation’s success and its implications. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is expected to address further developments. India’s military actions were approved by Modi, who granted full operational freedom to the armed forces. The retaliation follows Pakistan’s vow to retaliate, adding to the already tense situation between the two nations.
