In the lead-up to IPL 2025, Australian pacer Mitchell Starc praised KL Rahul, calling him India’s “Mr. Fix-it” due to his versatility in various batting positions and wicketkeeping roles. Starc, who will play alongside Rahul for Delhi Capitals, highlighted India’s deep talent pool, stating they could field competitive Test, ODI, and T20 teams simultaneously.
Rahul, initially an opener, adapted to the middle order and took over as India’s primary wicketkeeper in ODIs following Rishabh Pant’s injury. Both Rahul and Starc were acquired by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 auction for ₹14 crore and ₹11.75 crore, respectively.
