India’s regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur and pace bowling star Renuka Singh will sit out of the three-match ODI series against Ireland, beginning January 10 in Rajkot. In their absence, Smriti Mandhana will lead the team, with Deepti Sharma serving as vice-captain.

The squad sees the inclusion of Raghvi Bist and Sayali Satghare. Bist, who debuted in the T20I series against West Indies in December 2024, showed promise with scores of 5 and 31 in her two appearances. Satghare called up earlier for the ODIs against New Zealand in October 2024, is yet to make her debut for the national side.

Pratika Rawal and Tanuja Kanwar, who made their India debuts in the ODI series against West Indies, retain their places. Meanwhile, Shafali Verma, despite amassing 527 runs at an average of 75.29 in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy, continues to miss out. She recently impressed with a match-winning 91 off 71 balls for Team A in the ongoing One Day Challenger Trophy but remains overlooked for this series.

This ODI series, part of the 2022-2025 ICC Future Tours Programme, marks Ireland’s first bilateral tour of India and its first ODI encounter with India since 2006. India has won all 12 ODIs against Ireland to date, most recently clashing in the T20 World Cup 2023, where India secured a narrow five-run victory.

India Women Squad:

Smriti Mandhana (capt), Deepti Sharma (vice-capt), Pratika Rawal, Harleen Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues, Uma Chetry (wk), Richa Ghosh (wk), Tejal Hasabnis, Raghvi Bist, Minnu Mani, Priya Mishra, Tanuja Kanwer, Titas Sadhu, Saima Thakor, Sayali Satghare.
