Although India faced a 3-1 series loss in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-2025, ending their decade-long dominance over Australia, some individual performances stood out. Nitish Kumar Reddy, playing his debut Test series, was one of them. The all-rounder played all five matches, scoring 298 runs and taking five wickets.

Reddy’s standout moment came in the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where he scored a brilliant century in the Boxing Day Test. While his knock couldn’t prevent India’s defeat, Reddy received widespread praise from experts and fans for his impressive performance on Australian soil.

At 21 years and 256 days, he also became the third-youngest Indian batter to score a century in Australia. Only Sachin Tendulkar and Rishabh Pant achieved this feat at a younger age.
