Find Out the Batsman with the Most Runs Against DC in a Single IPL Season

Sanju Samson has rewritten the IPL record books with 202 runs against the Delhi Capitals in the 2026 season, the highest ever by a batter against DC in a single edition. He moved past Ishan Kishan’s 188 from 2020, while names like Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers complete the elite list.

In IPL history, the Delhi Capitals have often found it difficult to stop certain batters from dominating them across a season. While the franchise is still chasing its first title and hoping IPL 2026 changes that story, a few players have produced outstanding numbers against DC in single editions of the tournament.

Sanju Samson – 202 Runs in IPL 2026

Sanju Samson has been the Delhi Capitals’ biggest headache in IPL 2026. Playing for Chennai Super Kings, he made sure DC had no answers in either clash. The first game in Chennai saw Samson play one of his best IPL knocks, smashing an unbeaten 115 from just 56 balls. He was in complete control from start to finish, finding gaps with ease and clearing the ropes regularly as CSK posted 212/2.

Ishan Kishan – 188 Runs in IPL 2020

Mumbai Indians met Delhi Capitals 4 times in IPL 2020, and Ishan Kishan made his presence felt in nearly every outing. Though his scores were not all massive, he consistently delivered at important moments. He began with a quick 28 in Abu Dhabi before producing a match-winning, unbeaten 72 in Dubai, an innings that helped Mumbai seal a dominant win.

In Qualifier 1, Kishan once again stayed till the end, hammering 55 not out off 30 balls as MI crossed the 200 mark. He then added an unbeaten 33 in the final, calmly finishing the chase as Mumbai won their 5th IPL trophy. His tally of 188 runs against DC across 4 matches remains one of the best against the franchise in a single season.

Mayank Agarwal – 168 Runs in IPL 2021

Even though Punjab Kings lost both matches against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021, Mayank Agarwal was outstanding in both contests. At the Wankhede Stadium, he gave Punjab a blazing start with 69 from only 36 balls, attacking from the first over and helping his side reach 195/4. In the second meeting, he came heartbreakingly close to a century, finishing unbeaten on 99 off 58 balls.

It was an innings filled with quality strokeplay and sensible batting as wickets kept falling at the other end. Despite missing out on 100, Mayank walked away with the Player of the Match award. His 168 runs across the 2 games showed how comfortable he looked against the DC bowling attack.
