WPL 2025: Mithali Raj Quits as the Mentor of the Gujarat Giants ahead of WPL 2025
Mithali Raj and the Gujarat Giants have decided to part ways ahead of the WPL 2025 auction. Mithali had been the mentor and advisor for the franchise for the past two seasons which failed to win the Women's Premier League.
Mithali Raj recently accepted a new role with the Andhra Cricket Association, which may have influenced her decision to leave the Gujarat Giants just days before the WPL 2025 auction. Her new position likely required her full attention, prompting her departure from the franchise.
Mithali Raj and the Gujarat Giants have mutually agreed to part ways, with official confirmation expected soon. Mithali’s three-year contract ended after just two seasons, during which the Giants finished last in the WPL points table twice. The team’s bowling coach, Nooshin Al Khadeer, has also chosen not to renew her contract.
