Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: Sanju Samson Confirms Availability for Vijay Hazare Trophy
Sanju Samson has confirmed his availability for Kerala's upcoming matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Initially left out of the squad, the wicketkeeper-batter will now join the team for the tournament. His availability is a boost for Kerala in their upcoming fixtures.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy is a key 50-over domestic tournament in India and it is important for Sanju Samson as he aims for a place in India’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025. While Samson has confirmed his availability, the Kerala Cricket Association has yet to decide if he will be included in the squad, according to KCA secretary Vinod S Kumar.
KCA secretary Vinod S Kumar confirmed Sanju Samson’s availability for the rest of the tournament. However, he mentioned that the selection panel has not yet made a decision regarding his inclusion in the squad. He said:
Sanju has updated us that he is available for selection over the last two days. We are yet to take a call on his inclusion. There is a full contingent already there in Hyderabad and only two games have been played.
Vinod S Kumar also mentioned that senior batter Sachin Baby is still recovering from an injury sustained during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. As he continues his recovery, the Kerala Cricket Association will assess his fitness before making a decision about his inclusion in the squad for upcoming matches.
Kerala has played two matches so far, winning one and losing one. They lost their first match to Baroda by 62 runs after Baroda scored 403 in the first innings. The second match against Madhya Pradesh was thrilling, but rain interrupted and washed out the game.
