In an exciting match in the Under-19 Asia Cup, India U19 secured a commanding 211-run victory against Japan U19 in Sharjah. Opting to bat first, India set a daunting target of 340 runs, finishing their innings at 339/6. The Indian batters were in sublime form, with multiple contributions across the lineup ensuring a monumental total.

In response, Japan struggled to cope with India’s disciplined bowling attack. Despite a resilient 35 off 68 balls from Charles Hinze, their innings ended at 128/8 in 50 overs, far short of the target. India’s bowlers, led by Chetan Sharma, were exceptional. Sharma recorded impressive figures of 2 wickets for 14 runs in his 8 overs, maintaining an economy rate of just 1.75. Support from bowlers like Ayush Mhatre and Yudhajit Guha further stifled Japan’s batting efforts.

The Indian team showcased their all-round dominance, excelling in both batting and bowling departments. This result significantly boosts India U19’s standing in Group A, where they now hold one win and one loss in two matches. Conversely, Japan remains winless, struggling at the bottom of the table.

With such a comprehensive performance, India U19 reaffirmed their potential as tournament contenders, while Japan will need a massive turnaround in their remaining fixtures to stay competitive.
