Shoaib Malik Reveals Shocking Bond With Son Izhaan After Divorce From Sania Mirza

With the end of his 14-year marriage to Sania Mirza in January 2024, former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik has opened up about his bond with their son, Izhaan Mirza Malik. Despite their divorce and his recent marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed, Malik emphasized that he continues to fulfill all his responsibilities as a father. Speaking on a podcast, Malik revealed that his relationship with Izhaan is more friendly than traditional, with his son often calling him “bro” and vice versa. 

Malik shared that he travels twice a month to Dubai, where Izhaan lives with Sania, to spend quality time with him. During his visits, he personally drops and picks up Izhaan from school. Additionally, the father-son duo stays connected daily through video calls, discussing various topics to maintain a strong bond.

The relationship I share with him is one of friendship. He calls me bro, and sometimes I also call him bro. I make sure to visit him twice a month in Dubai, and while I’m there, I personally drop him to school and pick him up. I have a very strong bond with him. Every day we connect on a video call and discuss everything.

Shoaib and Sania, who married in 2010 amid much media attention due to their cross-border relationship, settled in Dubai after marriage. Though their marriage ended in 2024, both continue to handle their personal lives maturely. Malik’s open acknowledgment of his bond with Izhaan highlights his efforts to remain a constant part of his son’s life, despite the changed family dynamics.
