For the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Kuldeep Yadav is working hard on his comeback after recovering from a groin injury sustained during the opening Test against New Zealand. The left-arm wrist spinner, who is targeting a spot in India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy 2025, has resumed net training and shared a video of his progress on social media.

Kuldeep’s return is crucial for India’s bowling attack, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness. His inclusion would provide a genuine wicket-taking option, particularly in spin-friendly conditions in the UAE, where he has prior experience playing in the IPL and the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Kuldeep has been a consistent performer for India, taking 172 wickets in 106 ODIs, with an average of 26. He has also excelled in T20Is, with 69 wickets from 40 matches. Despite missing out on the five-match T20I series against England, Kuldeep is set to undergo fitness tests and match simulations to prove his readiness for the 50-over games. India begins the series against England on January 22, 2025, with the first T20I scheduled at Eden Gardens.
