KKR to Flaunt IPL’s First-Ever Golden Badge in 2025 on Jersey
Defending IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will debut a Golden Badge on their jerseys in IPL 2025, a new tradition honoring the reigning titleholders. Inspired by European football leagues, this emblem signifies their 2024 triumph. Additionally, KKR has added a third star to their crest, marking their three IPL titles.
For the first time in IPL history, a new tradition has been introduced: the Golden Badge, a symbol of the reigning champions’ dominance. In IPL 2025, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the winners of the 2024 season, will be the first team to wear this prestigious emblem on their jersey sleeve. This concept is similar to European football, where league champions, like Manchester City, display a golden badge. The badge will be passed on to the IPL 2025 winners, who will wear it in IPL 2026.
Apart from the Golden Badge, KKR has also added a third star above their crest to represent their three IPL titles. The franchise will begin their title defense under newly appointed captain Ajinkya Rahane against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens on March 22.
This addition brings a new sense of prestige to the tournament, making the title race even more competitive. As KKR prepares to flaunt the badge, the real question remains: which team will claim it for IPL 2026?
