The IPL 2025 auction proved to be a big game changer for many of the players and the franchises, and one of them was 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He made history by becoming the youngest-ever cricketer to be bought at an IPL auction, joining Rajasthan Royals. However, Suryavanshi is more excited about being coached by legendary Rahul Dravid than playing in the IPL itself.

The young prodigy, who starred in the recent U-19 Asia Cup with two half-centuries, expressed his gratitude for his support system, especially from the Bihar Cricket Association. Despite India’s loss to Bangladesh in the final, Suryavanshi remains optimistic about the team’s future. He said:

I have no strategy as such for the IPL, I will just play the way I do. I wouldn’t say that we didn’t do well in the tournament, there are days when the team batting faces a collapse. That’s what happened in the final with us. We are determined to do better in future tournaments.

Looking ahead, he hopes to represent India at the senior level, with the blessing of Bihar’s Chief Minister. With Rajasthan Royals and Dravid’s mentorship, Suryavanshi’s journey into professional cricket is just beginning.
