The third ODI between the India Women and the West Indies Women has been an intense contest at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara. India Women, having already won the first two WODIs, are facing a setback in this dead-rubber match. Smriti Mandhana, a key performer in the earlier victories, fell early for just four runs off 19 balls, with only one boundary to her name.

In the 6th over, Aaliyah Alleyne’s pitched-up delivery swung away from Mandhana, and despite her attempt to drive, she couldn’t clear the in-field. Munisar, stationed at cover point, took a stunning one-handed catch, sending Mandhana back to the pavilion.
The West Indies bowlers, particularly Deandra Dottin and Alleyne, have kept the Indian batting line-up under pressure.

Harleen Deol, who scored a century in the previous match, also fell cheaply, further adding to India’s struggles. A brief partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Pratika Rawal provided some stability, but Rawal fell in the final over of the powerplay. Harmanpreet’s departure soon after left India at a precarious 74/4 after 14 overs, with West Indies looking to capitalize on their breakthroughs.
