ICC Announces November’s Contenders for Player of the Month Award
The ICC has announced the nominees for the Player of the Month award for November 2024. For the Men's category, Jasprit Bumrah, Marco Jansen, and Haris Rauf are contenders, with Bumrah’s standout performance in India’s Test win over Australia being a highlight. For the Women’s category, Sharmin Akhter, Nadine de Klerk, and Danni Wyatt-Hodge are nominated, with Akhter's 96 against Ireland standing out.
The month of November has seen some of the best cricket performances, with several standout players earning nominations for the ICC Player of the Month awards. Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier pacer, made the shortlist after leading India to a dominant Test victory over Australia in Perth, taking five wickets for 30 and three for 42 while regaining the top spot in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings. Marco Jansen from South Africa also made the list, impressing with both bat and ball.
Jansen contributed 11 wickets, including a match-winning seven for 13 in the first innings against Sri Lanka, and smashed 54 runs in just 17 balls in the T20I series against India. Haris Rauf of Pakistan earned his nomination after playing a crucial role in Pakistan’s first ODI series win in Australia since 2002, finishing as Player of the Series with 13 wickets, including a five-wicket haul in Adelaide.
On the women’s side, Sharmin Akhter of Bangladesh, Nadine de Klerk of South Africa, and Danni Wyatt-Hodge of England are the contenders. Akhter hit a career-high 96 runs against Ireland, de Klerk excelled with both bat and ball, and Wyatt-Hodge played an instrumental role in England’s T20I series win in South Africa, scoring back-to-back half-centuries.
