After the Delhi Capitals’ strong showing in IPL 2025, much of the spotlight has fallen on KL Rahul, who has emerged as a key performer following his move from the Lucknow Super Giants. Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, Rahul’s father-in-law, expressed pride over his success but maintained humility, stating that Rahul’s bat is doing all the talking. Rahul has scored 371 runs in nine games so far, including three half-centuries, and played a standout innings of 93* off 53 balls against his former team Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 10.

That performance, capped by an emotional celebration at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, saw Rahul tapping his bat and gesturing confidently as if claiming the ground as his own. Inspired by the film Kantara, the act marked a rare public display of emotion from the usually composed cricketer. Suniel Shetty acknowledged the intensity of the moment, noting that it was the first time he had seen Rahul express himself so openly and hinting that the gesture carried a personal message, especially towards his former franchises.

Rahul has played for Punjab Kings, RCB, and LSG before joining DC. In his IPL career, he has amassed 5,054 runs in 141 matches, proving to be one of the league’s most reliable top-order batters.
