Cooch Behar Trophy: Suman Kumar Creates History with 10-Wicket Haul as Bihar Dominates Rajasthan

Bihar's spinner Suman Kumar made headlines with an outstanding bowling display in the Cooch Behar Trophy match against Rajasthan. Playing at the Moin Ul Haq Stadium in Patna on Saturday, November 30, 2024, he achieved a remarkable feat by taking all 10 wickets in an innings.

After being sent to bat, Bihar put up a strong total of 467 runs in 143.4 overs. Dipesh Gupta and Prithvi Raj shone with impressive centuries, with Dipesh remaining unbeaten on 183 off 381 balls, hitting 28 fours. Bihar secured a huge 285-run lead as Suman Kumar dominated Rajasthan’s batting lineup.

Rajasthan bowled out for 182 runs, with Suman taking all 10 wickets in the innings. He became only the third bowler in Cooch Behar Trophy history to take 10 wickets in an innings and also achieved a hat-trick in the match. Suman made history by being the first player to accomplish both feats in the tournament.

Suman bowled 33.5 overs, giving away just 53 runs, including 20 maiden overs, with an impressive economy rate of 1.57. He finished with figures of 10/53 in the first innings against Rajasthan. His remarkable performance brought his total wickets to 22 in the ongoing season.
