After winning the first two games, Australia Women secured a resounding 86-run victory over England Women in the third ODI of the Women’s Ashes series at Hobart. Batting first, Australia posted a formidable 308/8, led by Ashleigh Gardner’s maiden international century (102 off 102 balls).

Gardner was supported by Beth Mooney (50 off 64) and Tahlia McGrath (55 off 45). Georgia Wareham’s late cameo of 38 runs from just 12 balls boosted the total. England’s bowlers struggled, with Lauren Bell and Nat Sciver-Brunt taking two wickets each.

In reply, England Women were bundled out for 222 in 42.2 overs. Tammy Beaumont (54 off 77) and Sciver-Brunt (61 off 68) provided resistance but lacked support from the middle and lower order. Megan Schutt (3/57) and Georgia Wareham (2/27) were effective with the ball, while Alana King stole the show with her 5/46, dismantling England’s chase.

The victory ensured Australia Women retained their dominance, moving to 2-0 in the ODI leg of the multi-format series. Gardner’s all-round brilliance earned her the Player of the Match award. The win showcased Australia’s batting depth and bowling prowess, leaving England needing a drastic turnaround in the remaining matches to stay competitive.
