Vikrant Massey Celebrates Rohit Sharma’s Wankhede Honour
Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey cheered the MCA’s decision to name a stand at Wankhede Stadium after Rohit Sharma. Sharing his excitement on Instagram, he posted a story. Approved during the MCA AGM, the Rohit Sharma Stand marks a major tribute. Despite scoring just 82 runs in IPL 2025, Rohit’s legacy remains strong.

When the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) approved the renaming of a stand at Wankhede Stadium in honour of Rohit Sharma, it marked a major tribute to one of Mumbai’s most iconic cricketers. During the MCA’s Annual General Meeting, the proposal was introduced by Milind Narvekar and supported by Jitendra Awhad. The resolution passed smoothly, leading to the Level 3 Divecha Pavilion now being officially named the Rohit Sharma Stand.

Other updates included renaming Level 3 of the Grand Stand after Sharad Pawar and Level 4 after Ajit Wadekar. Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey, a vocal fan of Sharma, celebrated the announcement on Instagram, calling it a proud moment with the caption, “Ab Wankhede mein apna ek stand hoga!!!” While the tribute was met with widespread applause, Rohit’s on-field form has been underwhelming this IPL season.
He has scored only 82 runs in six matches, with a best of 26 against Sunrisers Hyderabad that featured three sixes. Despite Rohit’s dip in form, the legacy recognition keeps his stature intact. Mumbai Indians, currently placed 7th with three wins from seven games, are fighting to stay in playoff contention. Sharma also recently received a special legacy award from BCCI President Roger Binny for his contributions over 18 IPL seasons.
