Sri Lanka Announces Squads For Upcoming T20I and ODI Series Against New Zealand

On Tuesday, Sri Lanka announced a 17 players squad for the home T20I and ODI series against New Zealand. Sri Lanka will host New Zealand for two T20 matches and three ODIs in November. The T20Is are scheduled for November 9 and 10 at Dambulla’s International Stadium.

The three match ODI series will start on November 13 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. The second and third ODIs will be played on November 17 and 19 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Charith Asalanka will continue to lead Sri Lanka’s white-ball teams, with experienced players like Wanindu Hasaranga, Mahesh Theekshana and Kusal Mendis included in both T20I and ODI squads.

The ODI squad includes a mix of experienced and young players like batters Avishka Fernando, Pathum Nissanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama. All rounder Dunith Wellalage and leg spinner Jeffrey Vandersay will play key roles in the bowling attack. The first bowling unit is strengthened by Asitha Fernando and Dilshan Madhushanka.

Power hitter Bhanuka Rajapaksa and experienced player Dinesh Chandimal have made a comeback to the T20I squad, bringing strength and experience for the upcoming home series against New Zealand.
