Social Media Supports Starc During the No-Ball Drama
In IPL 2025, Mitchell Starc faced controversy during a Super Over against RR after a no-ball was called due to his back foot touching the return crease. Despite debate over the decision, Starc stayed composed, conceding just 11 runs and securing a key run-out. DC later chased the target, with Starc earning Player of the Match.

After the high-pressure Super Over in the IPL 2025 clash between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, Mitchell Starc found himself at the center of a no-ball controversy. On the fourth delivery, Starc bowled a low full toss to Riyan Parag, who cut it for four. However, the umpire ruled it a no-ball after the siren, citing that Starc’s rear foot touched the return crease, triggering a debate. While some, including Simon Doull, argued that simply touching the line isn’t illegal, the rulebook clearly states that the bowler’s back foot must not touch the return crease at all.
Despite the drama, Starc remained calm, conceding only 11 runs and effecting a crucial run-out in the Super Over. Delhi chased down the target with ease, courtesy of KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs. Earlier, DC posted 188/5, powered by Abishek Porel’s 49, and quickfire knocks from Axar Patel (34 off 14) and Stubbs (34* off 18). RR, led by fifties from Nitish Rana and Yashasvi Jaiswal, fell short, and Starc was named Player of the Match for his match-winning Super Over performance.
