Sanjay Manjrekar Takes a Dig at Kohli’s Role in RCB’s Wins

In the latest IPL 2025 clash, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets, maintaining their perfect away record this season. Chasing 163, RCB were in deep trouble at 26 for 3, but Virat Kohli (51) and Krunal Pandya (73 not out) stitched a crucial 119-run partnership off 84 balls to seal the win in 18.3 overs. Despite Kohli’s key role, former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar credited RCB’s bowlers for their success, noting that four of their seven wins came while chasing modest totals like 174, 175, 157, and 162. Manjrekar’s remarks on social media drew criticism from fans who believed he deliberately overlooked Kohli and Krunal’s contributions. Kohli emphasized the importance of building partnerships and praised Krunal’s aggressive innings, which was his first fifty since 2016.

Kohli also highlighted how maintaining singles and doubles kept the innings stable during the chase. With this victory, RCB continued their strong run in the tournament, banking on both disciplined bowling and smart batting partnerships. Krunal Pandya’s return to form was another big positive as RCB looks to secure a playoff spot in IPL 2025.
