SA20: Trevor Penney Takes the Charge as Head Coach of Paarl Royals
For the SA20 2025 Season, Paarl Royals have taken the decision to appoint Trevor Penney as their head coach of the season who is coming to the League after having a successful season with the Barbados Royals in the CPL 2024 season.
Starting on January 9 and ending on February 8, the SA20 2025 season will see a change of coach for the Paarl Royals team, who has appointed Trevor Penney as the head coach for the season, and he will be taking the charge by replacing New Zealand’s former fast bowler Shane Bond who will be shifting his focus to the IPL Auction 2025 as he is associated with the Rajasthan Royals team.
In the 2024 Caribbean Premier League season, Trevor Penney coached the Barbados Royals, leading them to Qualifier 2. The Paarl Royals franchise is thrilled to welcome him as their new head coach for the upcoming tournament. In a statement, Trevor expressed his excitement about the opportunity and his eagerness to contribute to the team’s success.
I’m honoured to take on the Head Coach role at Paarl Royals. The SA20 has become a major tournament on the global cricket calendar, and I’m excited to work with such a talented squad. Being part of the Royals family with Rajasthan Royals and Barbados Royals has been a wonderful journey, and I’m looking forward to continuing that experience in Paarl. I’m confident we can build on the successes of the last two seasons and make a strong push for the title in 2025.
In the past two seasons, the Paarl Royals reached the playoffs but fell short of the finals. With Trevor Penney now at the helm, the team aims to secure their first title. They will be led by captain David Miller, who is determined to guide the Royals to success in the upcoming tournament.
