In the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, India triumphed over New Zealand in Dubai, securing their third title in the tournament’s history. Despite fielding struggles, with four dropped catches — including one by captain Rohit Sharma — India’s efforts were ultimately rewarded.
Following the victory, the Indian team management awarded the Best Fielder medal, with Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma as contenders. Fielding coach T. Dilip praised both players but ultimately declared Jadeja the winner, recognizing his sharp throws and fielding efforts. Dilip emphasized that every contribution on the field played a crucial role in India’s title-winning campaign.
Jadeja’s performance was instrumental in the final. With the ball, he bowled a tight spell, conceding just 30 runs in 10 overs and dismissing Tom Latham. With the bat, he remained unbeaten on 9 runs, hitting the winning shot.
This marked India’s second consecutive ICC trophy, following their T20 World Cup 2024 win in Barbados against South Africa. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, celebrating his fourth ICC title, refused to recreate his famous 2013 “Gangnam Style” celebration despite multiple requests, instead opting for bhangra and dandiya with Rohit Sharma during the celebrations.
