England Women secured their second consecutive win by defeating USA Women in their previous match in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Davina Perrin once again played an important role for the team, which helped them to chase the target as soon as possible.
Perrin was able to score 74 runs in just 45 balls, which helped the team to chase down the target of 120 runs set by the USA Women. With this win, England Women now stand at the top spot in the Group A standings and have almost sealed their spot for the Super 6s.
For the USA Women, their captain Anika Kolan played an important role with the bat, as she scored 46 runs in 42 balls to lead the team to 119, as they batted first. Prisha Thanawala and Trudy Johnson were able to secure two wickets each for England Women, as the other bowlers also remained economical.
When England Women came out to bat, the team lost an early wicket, as Erin Thomas was dismissed for a golden duck. However, Davina Perrin and Trudy Johnson further went on with a 117-run match-winning partnership which helped the team to win by 8 wickets.
