After losing the first ODI to Zimbabwe by a significant 80-run margin under the DLS method, Pakistan bounced back in style during the second match at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. The visitors put on a stellar bowling performance, led by debutant Abrar Ahmed, to bowl out Zimbabwe for a mere 145 runs in 32.3 overs.

Abrar Ahmed, making his international debut, was the star of the show, claiming four wickets for just 33 runs in his eight-over spell. His variations and clever use of the googly left Zimbabwe’s middle and lower order clueless. Abrar dismissed key players, including Richard Ngarava and Wellington Masakadza, to tilt the game decisively in Pakistan’s favor. Agha Salman complemented Abrar’s efforts with three wickets, while Faisal Akram wrapped up the tail with one wicket.

Zimbabwe struggled to build partnerships, with Dion Myers (33) and Sean Williams (31) offering brief resistance. Pakistan’s fielding also added to the hosts’ woes, highlighted by an early run-out that dismissed Tadiwanashe Marumani.

Pakistan now has a straightforward target of 146 runs to level the three-match series. The spotlight remains on Abrar Ahmed, whose dream debut could mark the beginning of a promising career for the leg-spinner in international cricket.
