Pakistan vs Australia: Rauf Shines in Adelaide: First Pakistani Pacer to Claim ODI Five-Wicket Haul Against Australia

In a memorable performance during the second ODI between Pakistan and Australia, fast bowler Haris Rauf silenced the Kangaroos with an impressive five-wicket haul at Adelaide Oval on Friday. Rauf's fiery spell not only dismantled Australia’s batting lineup but also secured his place in history as the first Pakistani pacer to achieve a five-wicket haul in an ODI at this historical venue.

Rauf, who had already troubled Australia in the first ODI, was looking so aggressive with his pace and bounce, following the help of the green pitch, struck early and gave continuous discomfort to Aussies, removing key players including Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, and Aaron Hardie.

His impact continued as he dismissed Glenn Maxwell before knocking the last screw in the coffin, Australian captain Pat Cummins for 13 in the 32nd over. Cummins attempted to pull a short ball but edged it to Mohammad Rizwan behind the stumps. A brief review confirmed the dismissal, after which Rauf knelt down, expressing gratitude for his achievement. At this moment Pakistan’s victory was just a few moments away.

Rauf’s performance not only broke records at the Adelaide Oval but also elevated him above Pakistani legends Wasim Akram and Imran Khan, neither of whom had claimed a five-wicket haul against Australia at this ground. With figures of 5/29, Rauf joined legendary spinner Saqlain Mushtaq as only the second Pakistani to accomplish this feat in Adelaide and set a new benchmark for Pakistan’s ODI bowling in Australia.
