Pakistan cruised to a commanding nine-wicket victory over Australia in the second ODI at the Adelaide Oval, leveling the series 1-1. After having a dominating defeat by Aussies, Pakistan opted to bowl first and the decision proved fabulous for their relentless pace attack, with Haris Rauf delivering a standout performance of 5/29, his second five-wicket haul in ODIs. Shaheen Shah Afridi provided solid support, taking 3/26, while Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah contributed with a wicket each. Australia’s innings struggled to gain traction, eventually collapsing to 163 all out in 35 overs, accepting a complete defeat in front of the Pakistani bowling unit. Steven Smith top-scored with 35 runs, and only a few Australian batters managed to make double figures as Pakistan’s bowlers tight deliveries.

In response, Pakistan’s openers launched into an aggressive chase. Saim Ayub scored a brisk 82 off 71 balls, laced with five fours and six sixes, while Abdullah Shafique anchored the innings with an unbeaten 64 off 69 balls. Their 137-run partnership effectively sealed the match before Ayub fell to Adam Zampa. Captain Babar Azam joined Shafique to finish the chase comfortably in just 26.3 overs, giving Pakistan a dominant win with 141 balls to spare.

Haris Rauf was awarded Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling spell, making history as the first Pakistani pacer to claim a five-wicket haul against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.
