Later in the morning, the team had to leave for Mumbai at 9.30 AM to continue the celebrations. The biggest highlight had to be the grand victory parade. Thousands of fans had to gather on the streets of Mumbai as the parade had to begin at Nariman Point and go one kilometre to Wankhede Stadium. The players had to wave to fans from an open-top bus, as chants and tricolours filled the air. The day had to end with a short ceremony at Wankhede, where the team had to be honoured in front of packed stands. It had to be a proud day for all fans after a 17-year wait for the T20 World Cup.
Indian Team Meets with Prime Minister
After landing in India on July 4, 2024, the Indian cricket team, fresh from their T20 World Cup victory in Barbados, was warmly welcomed in New Delhi. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, the team arrived on a special Air India chartered flight after a three-day delay due to Hurricane Beryl. Fans braved early morning rain at Indira Gandhi International Airport to cheer their heroes, with Rohit proudly holding the trophy. The team headed to the ITC Maurya hotel, where they were greeted with dhol, Bhangra dancers, and a special cake shaped like the T20 World Cup trophy, cut by Rohit, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, and Hardik Pandya.

Victory Parade in Mumbai
