ISPL Team Owner Saif Ali Khan Stabbed in Burglary at Bandra Home, Recovering Post-Surgery
Saif Ali Khan, co-owner of the ISPL team "Tiigers of Kolkata", was stabbed during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home on January 16, 2025. The intruder attacked him after a dispute with household staff. Saif suffered six stab wounds, two severe near his spine. He underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital and is now reported to be out of danger.
One of the most popular Bollywood actors, Saif Ali Khan, who is also the co-owner of the “Tiigers of Kolkata” franchise in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), was stabbed during a burglary attempt at his home in Bandra, Mumbai, on January 16, 2025. The incident occurred in the early hours when the suspect entered the house, leading to a confrontation with the staff.
When Saif intervened, the intruder attacked him with a sharp object, resulting in six injuries, two of which were severe, with one dangerously close to his spine. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where a team of doctors, including a neurosurgeon, operated on him. The doctor said:
Saif has six stabs and two are deep. Of this one is close to the spine. He is being operated upon by a team of doctors led by neurosurgeon Dr Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr Leena Jain, and anaesthesiologist Dr Nisha Gandhi. The surgery is still going on. He sustained six injuries, two are minor, two intermediate, and two deep injuries, one of the injuries is on the back which is close to the spine. A neurosurgeon is involved in the surgery.
The surgery was successful, and he is now out of danger. Saif Ali Khan, known for his roles in iconic Bollywood films like “Kal Ho Na Ho” and “Omkara”, is married to Kareena Kapoor and has two children. Following the incident, a statement from his family and team requested privacy and stated that the matter was under police investigation.
