The last few weeks for the Indian team have been filled with controversy surrounding Sarfaraz Khan, a promising Mumbai cricketer, and his alleged involvement in leaking sensitive dressing room information. Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has accused Khan of sharing details about the team’s internal matters during the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which reportedly upset the head coach. Despite Khan’s impressive performance, including a 150-run knock against New Zealand, he was left out of the playing XI for the series against Australia.

This incident has resurfaced the cricketer’s long history of controversies. In 2011, Khan faced accusations of age fraud, although the Mumbai Cricket Association later cleared him. His career also suffered setbacks in 2012 and 2015, when he was expelled from a BCCI camp and faced disciplinary action after an altercation with officials. Despite these challenges, Khan’s talent as a batter has been undeniable, but the recent accusations have cast a shadow over his reputation.

With these controversies resurfacing, Khan’s potential continues to be overshadowed by his turbulent past, raising doubts about his future with the Indian team, especially with the Gambhir-Mr. Fix-it saga in full swing.
