According to the reports, Pant requested to remain as captain and expressed interest in participating in coaching staff selections. However, the franchise’s dissatisfaction with his T20 performance in recent times appears to have influenced their decision not to retain him.

Multiple franchises are reportedly interested in Pant, and if he enters the auction, he is expected to be in high demand, given the need for an Indian wicketkeeper who can also lead and able to take responsibility for the batting unit.

Potential Destinations for Rishabh Pant

Kolkata Knight Riders:
With Shreyas Iyer’s departure, KKR will seek a new captain. Retaining Phil Salt as their wicketkeeper, they could benefit from Pant’s leadership and experience, significantly it will solidify their middle order.

Punjab Kings:
The Punjab Kings are focusing on rebuilding and could see Pant as a vital addition. Retaining Prabhsimran as a backup wicketkeeper would allow Pant to lead and strengthen the batting lineup, especially with significant funds available for bidding, they could eye for this Indian batting star to regain their lost pride.

Lucknow Super Giants:
With KL Rahul stepping back for personal reasons, LSG is likely to pursue Pant as a wicketkeeper-captain, addressing the leadership gap left by Rahul and taking the command from the front.

Chennai Super Kings:
CSK is eyeing Pant as part of their transition as MS Dhoni’s career winds down. His addition would provide a strong candidate for leadership alongside current captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.
