The Indian fans waited for the Australian tour much more than for the Asia Cup. But it has been one to forget for almost everyone in the country. Losing the first match one-sided, India went on to take the second match at Adelaide Oval, way too close. However, Australia had Cooper Connolly, who finished the job and helped his team to win the series.

This was also the most unexpected series loss for the Indian team. Virat Kohli got out for consecutive ducks in the first two games, as Harshit Rana also leaked runs for the team. This has sparked a meme fest on X, with fans creating the best possible memes to make this loss also a happy situation.

DSP Gets Caught

In the second ODI match, India had the upper hand, taking quick wickets of the Australian batters. But they didn’t have any idea that Matthew Short would end up playing a massive knock without giving many chances to the Indian team. Still, he fumbled against Washington Sundar, and the ball was sent flying towards the deep square leg.

Mohammed Siraj stood there and dropped the easy catch of Short, when he was at the score of 53. Later on, he went on to score more runs, and eventually it helped Australia to win the game. A Twitter user created a meme where DSP Siraj is locked up in jail by the Indian fielding coach, T Dilip.

Kohli in Big Trouble

The pressure is mounting for Virat Kohli even in his comeback series. In the first two ODI games against Australia, Kohli registered consecutive ducks for the first time in his ODI career. To this, a Twitter user created the perfect meme to describe his situation to the cricket fans. Kohli is seen hanging on the branch of a tree.

Beneath him are two crocodiles, who are termed as the players on the bench, such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rajat Patidar, and Tilak Varma. After this, a snake is climbing on the tree, which has been termed as Gautam Gambhir. To the ground remains a lion, who has been termed Ajit Agarkar in this meme.

Harshit Gets a New Spot

When some Indian batsmen failed to perform well while opening for the team, the lower order handled the responsibility. Harshit Rana, coming much down the order, managed to score 24 runs for the Indian team in the death overs. Every run in that phase counted for the Indian team, as no one expected even a score of 250.

But thanks to Harshit Rana’s heroics with the bat, he was able to help India reach a total of 264. To this, a Twitter user created a perfect meme to describe the bond between Rana and Gambhir, along with the new tactics of the coach. He used a viral Bollywood meme, where Gambhir asks Rana to open in the next game.

Kohli Fans These Days

Being a Kohli fan has not been easy these days. First, they waited for Virat Kohli to return to the game after months of break. On his return, Virat got out for a duck, which was also his first one in Australia. Fans hoped for Kohli to make his comeback in the second ODI match, which was set to be played at Adelaide Oval.

This was considered his fortress away from home, as Kohli brought five centuries here across different formats. But he got out once again for a duck, on a delivery against Xavier Bartlett. In the meme, it is perfectly shown how Kohli fans tried to get some sleep after watching him go for another duck, but couldn’t stop their tears.

Siraj Gets a Competitor

Mohammed Siraj has received various names from the Indian fans. Whether it is DSP Siraj or Viv Richards, or Jonty Rhodes, Siraj is mainly known when he steps out with the bat. Several fans also argue that he matches the looks of Sir Viv Richards when he comes out to bat and wears a cap.

But in the Test match between Pakistan and South Africa, it seems that Siraj’s Viv Richards nickname might have a new competitor. Kagiso Rabada went on to smash a fifty against Pakistan in just 38 balls. To this, a Twitter user created a meme where Rabada is shown to Siraj by saying that he has now got a new competitor for Viv Richardship.

Did Harshit Really Play Well?

Harshit Rana went through a lot of highs and lows in the second ODI match. First, he was able to perform well for the team with the bat. His knock of 24 runs helped India to reach a competitive total. Fans started to praise him to a great extent after his innings in the death overs.

Even when Australia’s batting started, Harshit Rana took the wicket of the dangerous Travis Head. But he eventually went on to concede 59 runs in 8 overs, which was too much in a chase of 265 runs. A viral meme on X has shown both sides of Harshit Rana during the game, asking how he became the match winner.

11 Years Challenge

The story of Virat Kohli and Adelaide Oval has been one to remember for the Indian fans. In 2014, Virat started his Test captaincy stint at this ground. He also started on a high note by bringing up two consecutive centuries for the Indian team. Fans waited to watch Virat Kohli perform for the last time at the Adelaide Oval in the second ODI.

But this time, the ending to Kohli’s Adelaide Oval chapter was not happy. Kohli got dismissed for a duck, and eventually went to raise his gloves, honouring the crowd. A famous Twitter page compiled both images to show how not just the time has changed, but also how Virat Kohli has changed over the years.

Kohli Brings Software Update

The date 23rd of October is remembered by every Indian fan. Virat Kohli brought his heroics to the game and helped the Indian team secure a historic win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022. The team stood 4 wickets down early, when Kohli scored 82* and helped India chase the total.

Before the match, the ICC had posted Babar Azam as the Badshah. But it seems they forgot who the real King of the game is. After the match, the ICC posted Virat Kohli in his throne and marked him as the King of the game once again. It is also said that Virat Kohli forced a system update to the ICC on that day.

Dar ka Mohol

Whenever Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli play for the Indian team, fans are a lot scared. Not just when they are coming off with the bat, they will end up losing their wickets early. But even after the match comes to an end, they might bring up the retirement in the post-match conference.

Also, the series has not been that good for both Rohit and Virat. Rohit was able to regain form, but Kohli struggled even in the second game. To this, a Twitter user has reacted by saying that 5 PM, 25 October, will be the scariest time for all the Indian cricket fans. Surely none of them would want Virat or Rohit near the mic.

Kohli Made His Choice

After watching Virat Kohli struggle to score even a single run, fans are anticipating what has happened to him. Some of them even say that he made a deal with the devil to win the Indian Premier League trophy. For this, he eventually sacrificed his international career.

While this all just remains misconceptions, it has brought down some great meme material for the fans. To this, a Twitter page has created a meme where an individual is holding a red pill in one hand and a blue pill in the other. They have been marked as the IPL trophy and the International career, to which it is asked what was chosen by Virat Kohli.

India’s Substitute Fielder

In the match between India and Australia, the Indian team made several mistakes while fielding. It is not just limited to the catch drop of Matt Short by Mohammed Siraj. This also extends to the run-out opportunities the team had at many instances, but ended up missing them all.

At the same point, there is an Instagram page where a newspaper boy is accurate in throwing the papers through the smallest gaps. A Twitter user decided to bring up the best meme for this situation. He said that the newspaper boy should be the fielder of the Indian team, giving direct throws from the outfield.

Credit Time

The Indian team suffered its second consecutive ODI loss against Australia. Also, the team has eventually lost the series, which makes things a bit challenging for them. At the same time, it is questionable who will be taking the credit for the series loss this time.

It was a direct dig at the Indian coach, Gautam Gambhir, by the Twitter users, as Gambhir is known for not getting the credit. Maybe the fans want him to take credit for the losses, also, if he loves taking credit for the team wins.
