Shreyas Iyer, who has been a part of the Indian cricket team, said that he is making preparations for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be played in Australia. He has been a regular part of the Indian test team, before the Test series against England.

However, he has not received any opportunity to play for the team and has remained dropped since then. Although Iyer played some impressive knocks in domestic cricket, he has not been on the team’s radar, when it comes to selection for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was not even a part of the India A team, which has left for the series against Australia A.

Still, Shreyas Iyer is keeping himself ready for the opportunity to arrive. Iyer has been doing well in domestic cricket, as he helped Mumbai to lift the Irani Cup after 27 years. Even in the Ranji Trophy match against Maharashtra, he scored a massive 142 runs in the first innings, which helped the team secure a win.

He said that playing under Australian conditions will be a great challenge for him, due to which he is working hard to be a part of the team in the crucial series. He said to the reporters that,

Playing in Australia, especially in a Border-Gavaskar series, is one of the biggest challenges in cricket. The conditions, the rivalry, and the intensity demand everything from you, and these are the moments you want to be part of as a cricketer. I’m preparing myself to grab that opportunity and leave a mark.
