GAM vs ZIM: Sikandar Raza’s Explosive 133 Powers Zimbabwe to Record 344/4

Sikandar Raza scored 133 runs in 43 balls against Gambia in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group B. Zimbabwe makes a historical record of the top score in the T20I format, scoring 344 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs.

Gambia and Zimbabwe are going against each other in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group B. Zimbabwe started the game by batting first as Brian Bennett and Tadiwanshe Marumani had an impressive 98 runs partnership for the first wicket, in just 34 balls.

Marumani scored 62 runs off 19 balls after which he lost his wicket, allowing Dion Myers to come in with the bat. Myers also lost his wicket quickly by scoring just 12 runs off 5 balls, and that’s when the captain, Sikandar Raza stepped up to show his batting dominance.

Raza scored 133 runs for the team in just 43 balls against Gambia, smashing 15 sixes and 7 fours. Therefore, Sikandar Raza was able to score 114 runs just from the boundaries in this game. His performance was also followed by some impressive half-century innings by Brian Bennett and Clive Mandade.

This powerful inning by Sikandar Raza helped Zimbabwe to reach the record total of 344 runs with the loss of 4 wickets in just 20 overs. Therefore, he also helped the team to create a world record for the top score in the Men’s T20I format for the team, with his mammoth century.
