Fakhar Zaman Parts Ways with SAYA Corps Following Controversy Over Kohli-Babar Tweets
Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has cut ties with his agent, SAYA Corps, following backlash over a controversial tweet that supported Babar Azam while making unfavorable comments about Indian star Virat Kohli.
After being excluded from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) central contract this year, Fakhar Zaman has made a significant career decision by ending his association with his agent, SAYA Corps. This move comes in response to a controversial tweet from his agency that supported Babar Azam while making unfavorable remarks about India’s star player, Virat Kohli.
Fakhar Zaman’s brother Gohar Zaman announced the separation in a tweet stating that:
As an elder brother, I confirm that Fakhar Zaman will not be part of SAYA Corps from today.
Fakhar Zaman last represented Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the team’s early group-stage exit disappointed both fans and players. Adding to this, Fakhar was not offered a central contract by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) this year. With over 82 ODIs and 92 T20Is under his belt, Fakhar has been a regular figure in Pakistan’s lineup, contributing significantly to the team across formats.
Tweeting about the decision, Fakhar Zaman’s elder brother, Gohar Zaman, shared that Fakhar has ended his association with his agent, SAYA Corps. Interestingly, this agency also represents other prominent players, including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
With Fakhar Zaman not selected for the upcoming tours to Australia and Zimbabwe, it will be challenging for him to be left out of the squad. He will be eager to make a strong return to the team now.
