Divorce Reason Revealed! Did Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree’s Marriage End Over Mumbai-Haryana Clash?
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma divorced after four years of marriage due to her demand to permanently shift to Mumbai. Chahal refused to leave his Haryana roots, leading to their split. The divorce was finalized last week, with Chahal agreeing to pay ₹4.75 crore alimony in a settlement.

When it comes to the divorce of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his dancer-YouTuber wife Dhanashree Verma, the main reason reportedly stemmed from a conflict over relocation. As per senior journalist Vickey Lalwani, Dhanashree demanded Chahal permanently shift from his hometown in Haryana to Mumbai, which the cricketer found unreasonable. Despite Dhanashree moving to Haryana post-marriage in 2020 and staying with Chahal’s family, differences grew due to their contrasting personalities and lifestyles.
Although the couple frequently traveled between Haryana and Mumbai, it did not resolve the underlying issues. Dhanashree’s insistence on settling in Mumbai, India’s financial capital and the entertainment hub was seen as an “unjust demand” by Chahal, who was unwilling to leave his roots and parents in Haryana. This disagreement became the major reason behind the split, leading to the end of their four-year marriage.
The couple, who got engaged and married in 2020, filed for divorce in a Mumbai court last month. Their divorce was finalized recently, with Chahal agreeing to pay INR 4.75 crore as alimony to Dhanashree as part of their settlement. Their high-profile separation attracted significant media attention due to their public presence and social media following.
