BCCI Implements Strict Travel Protocols for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The Indian cricket team will travel to Dubai for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 without their families due to BCCI’s new travel policy. India begins their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a high-stakes clash with Pakistan on February 23 and New Zealand on March 2. The policy aims to maintain team focus, banning personal staff and family members unless pre-approved.

Before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian cricket team will travel to Dubai under a new BCCI travel policy prohibiting players’ families from accompanying them. This policy, enforced for the first time, aims to ensure the squad remains entirely focused on winning the tournament.
India begins their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by a high-stakes match against Pakistan on February 23 and a final group-stage clash against New Zealand on March 2. If they reach the final, they will compete on March 9.
BCCI’s new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), shared with players during the third ODI against England in Ahmedabad, mandate strict guidelines, including restrictions on personal staff like managers, chefs, and assistants. Family members can only visit players if a tour exceeds 45 days and for a limited period.
Additionally, players must travel by team bus for all matches and practice sessions, with no personal transportation allowed. Endorsements and personal shoots during the tournament are banned. Violations could lead to serious consequences, as BCCI has emphasized strict adherence. Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary R. Devraj has been appointed as the team manager to enforce these rules throughout the Champions Trophy.
