The team announced a change in their squad for the second test match, as Khaled Ahmed has been given a place in the team, replacing Taskin Ahmed. The final test match of the series will be played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, from 29 October. This will also be a decider, as South Africa eyes to win and increase their chances to reach the WTC final.

Some reports even said that Taskin Ahmed has been rested by the team to keep him fresh for the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan. For Bangladesh, Ahmed has proven to be a great asset for all the formats of the game. The selectors said,

Taskin Ahmed is our all-format cricketer and will be flying away from home for 50 days as we have ODIs against Afghanistan followed by a full-fledged series against West Indies. We want to have him fresh ahead of the long tour so decided to rest him while Khaled is included so that if we need him, we can use him considering our two pacers Nahid Rana and Hasan Mahmud are fit and ready to go.
