Adelaide Strikers secured a commanding 30-run victory over Perth Scorchers in a thrilling encounter at Adelaide. After posting a competitive total of 169/6, powered by Laura Wolvaardt’s quickfire 48 and Smriti Mandhana’s 41, the Strikers' bowlers, led by Megan Schutt’s 3 wickets, settled the Scorchers to 139/8.

In the 32nd match of the Women’s Big Bash League, Adelaide Strikers showcased clinical all-round performance to beat Perth Scorchers by 30 runs at Adelaide Oval. Batting first, the Strikers set a challenging total of 169/6, with key contributions from Smriti Mandhana (41 off 29), Katie Mack (41 off 34), and Laura Wolvaardt, who blasted 48 off just 28 balls. Tahlia McGrath and Bridget Patterson also provided late impetus, adding quick runs to push the total beyond 160.

In reply, the Scorchers were never able to build significant partnerships. A flurry of early wickets saw them reduced to 17/4 by the 4th over, with Megan Schutt and Anesu Mushangwe leading the charge. Sophie Devine top-scored for the Scorchers with 35, while Brooke Halliday fought valiantly with 47. Despite a late surge, the Scorchers finished with 139/8, falling short by 30 runs.

The Strikers’ bowling attack was in top form, with Schutt (3/19) and Mushangwe (2/35) taking pivotal wickets, while Amanda-Jade Wellington also contributed with 2 wickets for 26 runs. This all-round performance helped the Strikers maintain their position at the top of the table, while the Scorchers will look to regroup for their next outing. Megan Schutt won the Player of the Match title for her outstanding bowling performance.
