Abhishek Sharma Soars to Second in ICC T20 Rankings Following Stunning England Performance

Abhishek Sharma's record-breaking 135-run innings against England in the Mumbai T20I propelled him to second in the ICC T20I batting rankings, climbing 38 places. His knock, off 54 balls, included the fastest fifty by an Indian at home (17 balls) and a century in 37 balls. Abhishek also rose to 13th in the all-rounder rankings.

After an amazing knock of 135 runs against England in the Mumbai T20I, Abhishek Sharma climbed to second place in the latest ICC T20I batters’ rankings. His record-breaking innings, achieved in just 54 balls, propelled him up 38 places in the rankings, marking a significant rise for the 24-year-old.

This remarkable performance included the fastest fifty by an Indian at home in just 17 balls, and his century in 37 balls, the second-fastest by an Indian after Rohit Sharma. Abhishek’s century also surpassed Shubman Gill’s previous record of 126* in T20Is.

In addition to his rise in the batter rankings, Abhishek moved up 31 spots to claim 13th in the ICC T20I all-rounder rankings. Australian star Travis Head remains in the top spot, with Abhishek now only 26 rating points behind him.

Other Indian players, such as Tilak Varma (3rd) and Suryakumar Yadav (5th), are also in the top five. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube saw improvements, moving up to 51st and 58th positions respectively. Abhishek’s sensational performance continues to solidify his standing among the best in T20 cricket.
