Another week has gone by, and cricket fans have turned down no moment to bring the best memes. From the comeback of Babar Azam to the Test format to the saga of Gautam Gambhir in the Indian cricket team, several memes have gone viral this week on X.

In the week when fans brought down the best memes, one of them even came from Virat Kohli. He first tweeted a motivational quote, which made the fans think about his availability for the 2027 World Cup. But Kohli soon brought in the promotional tweet to the same, trolling all the fans at once.

Let’s take a look at some of the funniest social media reactions this week.

Only Men Know the Real Pain

Since India lost the 2023 World Cup final, there have been various fans who think it is the worst loss the team has received lately in the ICC events. But a meme has conveyed the message to the fans that there have been some OGs who have experienced a lot more.

This shows that the fans who saw the 2015 World Cup semi-final, the T20 World Cup 2016 semi-final, the 2017 Champions Trophy final, and the 2019 World Cup semi-final would have survived this loss easily. And yes, it was the toughest phase for the Indian team, as they dominated the league stages but didn’t do well in the knockout games.

Rohit & Gill’s Bond

During the Test match between India and the West Indies, we saw several fans coming in the jerseys of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. It was a sort of memory for the retired legends of the game. But at the same time, on social media, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill’s fans have been hating each other.

This has been due to the captaincy issue, as Gill is India’s new ODI skipper, replacing Rohit Sharma. However, a meme perfectly captured how the fans are in real life. In the match between India and the West Indies, a fan wearing Rohit’s jersey and another wearing Gill’s jersey sat beside each other to enjoy the game.

Babar Missed in Asia Cup?

When the squad for Pakistan was released for the Asia Cup 2025, Babar Azam was not in the list. Pakistani fans felt bad knowing that they would not be able to watch him in the T20 tournament. Following this, Pakistan made it to the finals but barely lost to India. The fans started to think that the team could have won if Babar Azam had been in it.

Taking a look at all this, Babar Azam marked his return to the Test format against South Africa. In the very first innings, he got out for just 23 runs on the flat pitches of Lahore. This was a great way for Babar Azam also to troll the fans who backed him throughout the Asia Cup.

Advice for Shoaib Malik

Shoaib Malik has been a renowned Pakistani cricketer. But over the past few years, he has been known for his bond with his ex-wife, Sania Mirza, who is an Indian sportsperson. Both of them had already divorced each other, following which Shoaib Malik got married to Sana Javed.

But recently, a fan was able to predict Kohli’s next move even better than anyone else. Virat Kohli posted a motivational quote on his X account lately, as fans were anticipating.

But one of them knew it would be some sort of promotional tweet for Wrogn. He predicted it just a few minutes after Kohli’s tweet. And a few hours later, his prediction came true, as Kohli posted the Wrogn advertisement to the same. Some Twitter users have even started to say that even this fan knows Kohli better than Anushka Sharma.

Kohli Trapped the Fans

The Indian cricket fans are only scared of one thing, which is the post of Virat Kohli across any of his social media handles. At the time when there were rumours about his retirement, fans waited for an official post from Virat Kohli. This also happened when Kohli posted a motivational quote on his X handle.

But what was expected to be a post related to the 2027 World Cup turned out to be a promotion for Wrogn. A Twitter user perfectly described this situation by calling the Indian fans a fly, and Virat Kohli’s Twitter post a Venus Flytrap. And yes, it can be said that Kohli’s post was a trap, to which almost every fan fell.

Delete It Now

Virat Kohli posted on his Twitter after a long time, and it didn’t seem to be a promotional tweet as usual. It was just a motivational quote which talked about the time when a person is about to quit something. Fans were delighted to watch the King give his reply to his retirement rumours.

Some of them even commented that this is not an advertisement post by Virat Kohli. For a few minutes, fans genuinely thought that Kohli had answered his availability for the 2027 World Cup. But soon enough, when he posted the Wrogn advertisement, a Twitter user created a perfect meme to the same, where Kohli told his fans who said that it is not an advertisement to delete their tweets.

Abhishek Earned the Award

The ICC announced its monthly awards for September, and two Indian players were nominated for the Player of the Month award. Abhishek Sharma overtook Kuldeep Yadav and went on to win his first ICC award. Becoming the POTS in the Asia Cup 2025, Abhishek now also has the ICC Player of the Month award.

He was able to dominate Pakistan with ease in the Asia Cup, scoring runs against their premium fast bowlers. To this, a Twitter user created a meme where Abhishek Sharma has kept the Pakistani bowlers on the leash. In this way, he has perfectly described how the Indian youngster was able to dominate the Pakistani bowlers.

BCCI Reacts to Kishan

The Ranji Trophy has also started this week, making it much happening week for cricket fans. Against all the odds, Ishan Kishan remains keen to mark his comeback to the Indian team. In the Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu, he scored 173 runs for the team, playing a captain’s knock. With this, he also stated the BCCI.

However, a Twitter user reacted to the same by saying that the BCCI would be confused whether it is good news or bad news. It would be good news for them, considering the form of Ishan Kishan. And it could be bad too, considering the other options who are currently a part of the Indian team.

RoKo Rivalry

Dinesh Karthik recently made some statements on Virat Kohli and his availability for the 2027 World Cup. He said that Kohli is having practice sessions even in London, which makes him keen for the same. At the same time, fans have also seen Abhishek Nayar singing praises for Rohit Sharma.

This not only shows the confidence they have in the senior players but also their dedication towards the World Cup. But a Twitter user turned this entire scenario into a WWE match. The match has Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Nayar on one side, against Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik on the other side.

Virat’s Plan B?

Virat Kohli is keen to play the 2027 World Cup and bring the trophy. But he has not mentioned for whom he will be playing the same. When Kohli announced his retirement from the Test format, fans anticipated that he would be coming to play the series but as a player of the English team.

Now, with the 2027 World Cup approaching, it is uncertain whether fans will see Virat Kohli in the blue jersey or not. To this, a Twitter user reacted by uploading the picture of Virat Kohli in England’s jersey. With this, she showed what Kohli’s Plan B could look like if he does not get a chance to play for the Indian cricket team.

Boland Brings Nightmares

Every Virat Kohli fan knows how Scott Boland ruined things for him in the Test format. He has been among the few bowlers in the longer format of the game against whom Virat Kohli failed to perform. This eventually led to him announcing his retirement from the Test format.

But in the ODI series against Australia, Kohli would not be facing Boland as he is not a part of the team. To this, a Twitter page created a meme where an individual got scared in his dreams. To this, he said that in the dream, he saw Boland bowling against India in the ODI series.
