Ahead in the latest ICC ODI rankings update, Virat Kohli climbed to the fourth spot with 747 rating points after stellar performances in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025. His ranking boost was driven by a magnificent century against Pakistan and a match-winning knock in the semi-final against Australia. Before the tournament, he was ranked fifth, but his consistency has helped him rise. With one more match to play in the final, he has an opportunity to improve his ranking further.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma faced a setback in the rankings. He started the tournament at number three but slipped to fifth place with 745 points due to a string of low scores. Despite getting good starts in multiple games, he couldn’t convert them into big scores, leading to a drop in his position.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill retained his position as the number one ODI batsman with dominant performances in the tournament. However, South African batter Heinrich Klaasen is closing in, jumping to the third spot. With the Champions Trophy final approaching, these rankings could shift further depending on individual performances. The latest rankings highlight the impact of the tournament on players’ standings in world cricket.
