India’s former cricketer and Sachin Tendulkar’s childhood teammate, Vinod Kambli, has been hospitalized after brain clots were detected during his treatment. Kambli, 52, was admitted to Akriti Hospital in Thane on December 23 after experiencing symptoms like urinary infection and cramps. Doctors revealed the presence of brain clots following detailed medical tests.

Kambli is under close observation, and further tests are planned to assess the extent of his condition. During his treatment, Kambli expressed gratitude towards his doctor and reflected on his friendship with Tendulkar, who has been offering financial support. He said:

I would say that I am alive because of the main doctor. But whatever training I am given, I will only say that what we get, whatever God gives, name the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I will not say that. I love him. I will say Namaste to Sir. Sachin has gone to London. But he will come to know it.

Kambli’s close friend Marcus Couto shared that while Kambli’s condition is stable, the hospital will continue to provide extended care.

In a heartwarming gesture, the hospital has offered Kambli lifelong free medical care. Several cricket legends, including Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Kapil Dev, have extended their support. Kambli had recently met Tendulkar at the memorial for their childhood coach, Ramakant Achrekar.
