With the five-match T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand heating up, the second T20I at Dunedin witnessed both action and a viral moment involving Shadab Khan. During New Zealand’s chase, Shadab playfully pranked young fans near the boundary by pretending to give them the ball but pulling back at the last moment, leaving the kids disappointed. The clip quickly went viral on social media.
In the match, Pakistan showed slight improvement, posting 135/9 in a rain-shortened 15-over contest. Agha Salman top-scored with 46 off 28 balls, while Shadab Khan added a quick 26 off 14, including two sixes. Shaheen Afridi contributed a late 22* run cameo. However, New Zealand chased down the target comfortably, winning by five wickets with 11 balls to spare and taking a 2-0 series lead.
Finn Allen’s aggressive batting proved crucial, smashing three sixes in a single over. Bowlers Ben Sears, Jacob Duffy, Ish Sodhi, and Jimmy Neesham picked two wickets each for the hosts. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha admitted that conditions were challenging but called it a better performance than the last game, especially in batting and fielding. He stressed the need to improve in powerplay phases going forward.
