In the build-up to India’s Champions Trophy 2025 opener against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Rohit Sharma shared an inspiring message for fans. Thanking supporters for their love after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory, Rohit emphasized the team’s determination to claim another ICC trophy. In a video posted by the BCCI, he urged fans to rally behind the team, saying, “Let’s be champions together“.
India, the most successful team in Champions Trophy history in terms of wins and titles, is among the favourites this year. After facing Bangladesh, India will lock horns with archrivals Pakistan on February 23 at the same venue. Pakistan, having lost their opening game to New Zealand by 60 runs, will treat the India clash as a must-win encounter.
India’s final Group A match is scheduled for March 2 against New Zealand. Interestingly, India has faced the Kiwis only once in Champions Trophy history—the 2000 final, where they lost to Stephen Fleming’s side. Rohit, aiming to lead India to another ICC triumph, stressed the importance of fan support as they embark on their quest for glory.
