Ranji Trophy: Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Bihar to Host Three Ranji Trophy Matches
Moin-ul-Haq Stadium to host three Ranji Trophy matches in the current edition, giving Bihar the home ground advantage. MoU signed for the improvements of the stadium, which will be ready to host international matches by 2026.
The Moin-ul-Haq stadium, which was established in 1969, will be having three Ranji Trophy matches, during the months of October-November and January 2025. This stadium has served to be the home ground of Bihar’s state team, as they return to the ground for the Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka.
Bihar and Karnataka will be going against each other from 26 October, where Bihar will be taking the home ground advantage. Rakesh Tripathi, who is the President of the Bihar Cricket Association, also expressed his joy over the stadium being appointed as the host for three matches in the current edition of the Ranji Trophy.
In a press conference, the President of Bihar Cricket Association said that,
We are thrilled to host the Ranji Trophy matches in the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. We are excited to players play on their home ground. We are also confident that the Bihar team will put up a strong fight in the upcoming home matches.
MoU for Moin-ul-Haq Stadium
It has been reported that the Bihar Government will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the BCCI, which will be done for the improvements of the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium’s renovation. This has been confirmed and signed by the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar.
Therefore, this will help to transform the stadium in the level to host international matches and other sporting facilities. ACS Siddharth talked about this, saying,
The agreement will be signed very soon and immediately after that construction work shall start, which will be completed in 36 months. After completion of the construction, the BCCI will organise matches and other sporting activities till seven years after that period, profit will be shared with the state government on a 50-50 basis.
