Ramiz Raja Mistakenly Calls PSL as IPL During Live Presentation, Slip Goes Viral

During the post-match presentation of PSL 2025's 12th match on April 22, Ramiz Raja mistakenly referred to the Pakistan Super League as the IPL while awarding Joshua Little the Catch of the Match. The slip, made during Multan Sultans' 33-run win over Lahore Qalandars, quickly went viral on social media, sparking renewed IPL vs PSL debates.

For the 12th match of PSL 2025, a post-match slip-up by former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja sparked widespread reactions after he mistakenly referred to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the live presentation ceremony. The incident occurred after Multan Sultans’ 33-run win over Lahore Qalandars on April 22. Raja made the blunder while presenting Ireland’s Joshua Little with the “Catch of the Match” award for a stunning effort that dismissed Fakhar Zaman, who had scored a fiery 32 off just 14 balls.

Joshua Little’s brilliance came at a critical moment when Lahore was chasing a massive 229-run target. His catch swung the game’s momentum, helping Multan secure a crucial victory and snap a three-match losing streak. Captain Mohammad Rizwan credited the win to improved bowling and sharp fielding, praising Usman Khan’s momentum-shifting performance.

Meanwhile, social media erupted over Raja’s on-air mistake, especially since Little had previously played in the IPL for the Gujarat Titans. Adding fuel to the IPL-PSL debate, Sam Billings recently stated in a press conference that IPL remains miles ahead of other T20 leagues. Despite the gaffe, Multan celebrated a strong start to their home leg, reinstating confidence in their PSL 2025 campaign.
